Trinamul to Go Ahead with Delhi Programs Despite Police Denial

Abhishek Banerjee, a leader of the Trinamul party, stated on Saturday that the party has resolved to carry out its scheduled programs and rallies in Delhi over the next days regardless of whether the city's police gave their approval.

On Gandhi Jayanti, some 600 elected officials would travel to Rajghat under the direction of Abhishek to pay respects to the nation's founding father. Thousands of MGNREGA employment card holders whose payments have been delayed due to the Centre's refusal to distribute funds to Bengal will later gather in front of Jantar Mantar for a protest march.

On October 2, our MPs, MLAs, and ministers will hold a nonviolent sit-in at Rajghat in New Delhi. On October 3, we'll travel to Jantar Mantar with other people who have job cards from all around Bengal to request our back pay. Abhishek added in a virtual speech to party officials and workers from the districts, "If the BJP thinks that canceling trains, denying permission for programs, and sending letters from the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI can halt Trinamul, they are wrong.

The Trinamul national general secretary further stated, "We will not put an end to this people's struggle.

After the railways failed to supply a special train for which Trinamul had paid, over 3,500 job card holders went for Delhi in 50 or so buses on Saturday. In addition to them, Trinamul is sending 600 of its elected representatives to the capital to draw attention to the "deprivation" Bengal has received from the BJP-run government there.

According to a Trinamul source, the party has not yet received approval from Delhi police to visit Rajghat or hold a protest outside of Jantar Mantar.

As the Prime Minister and numerous other dignitaries will be visiting the monument on October 2, it will be difficult to access Rajghat without permission from the police. It would be difficult to transport people there if the police did not grant authorization until Monday am. In that situation, we would proceed to the extent that is permitted," the Trinamul leader stated.

He claimed that the protest at Jantar Mantar would follow a similar strategy. The Union Home Ministry receives reports from the Delhi Police.

Trinamul, according to Abhishek, would respond appropriately if the demonstrators were attacked.

The protests will be held in Delhi on October 2 and 3. The people of Delhi must respond democratically if any of the populace, whether farmers or workers, is attacked. target our lawmakers, legislators, and leaders all you want, but don't dare target our people, the Diamond Harbour MP said.

Abhishek said that the BJP had no authority to deny Bengal to 2.25 million people who held work cards. "They are discussing Bengal's MGNREGA's implementation of corruption. Take action against them even if I were to claim that only a small number of individuals were responsible for this. Is it acceptable to deny 2.5 crore job card holders their jobs because of 20, 200, or 2,000 similar corruption cases, he questioned.

After the special train that was supposed to transport them was abruptly cancelled, sources in Trinamul claimed that transporting 3,500 people to Delhi was a logistical nightmare. According to a source, Abhishek requested state transport minister Snehasish Chakraborty to set up buses as soon as the train was cancelled.

"Organizing 50 buses with national permits to go to Delhi proved difficult. The assistance of the transportation department was used to grant the buses special and temporary permissions. To care for the passengers during the protracted journey, the party needed at least 2,000 volunteers, according to a Trinamul leader.

According to a source, Trinmul would have to fork over a sizable chunk of money to transport 3,500 people by bus. According to a source, a security deposit of Rs. 11 lakh and Rs. 50 lakh were paid to reserve a special train, while at least Rs. 3 lakh would be needed to charter a bus for five days.

According to Trinamul, a commercial flight scheduled to carry over 120 North 24-Parganas leaders to Delhi on Sunday was postponed.
