Bridgerton Returns in Two Parts: Fans Divided Over Split Season 3 Release
Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan in Bridgerton Season 3

The popular period drama Bridgerton will make a comeback to Netflix in May 2024 for its third season, the streaming service revealed on Tuesday. The announcement also revealed that the upcoming installment will be available in two parts, with the first part premiering on May 16 and the second on June 13.

Netflix US shared a video on its official Instagram account along with the message, "Enjoy this exciting news." Part 1 of BRIDGERTON Season 3 will premiere on May 16 and Part 2 on June 13.

The audience's reaction to the split release plan has been conflicting. The two-part release has left many disappointed, despite the excitement of many. Who said that two-part shows are necessary? Can we just get everything at once?" an Instagram fan asked.

The third season of the Regency-era drama, which takes place in London, departs from the original order of the Julia Quinn novels that serve as its inspiration. The upcoming installment, which stars Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan, is anticipated to tell the story of Colin Bridgerton's transformation from friend to lover as he starts to doubt his true feelings for Penelope Featherington.

Numerous well-known characters, including Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury, Violet, Eloise Bridgerton, and the notorious gossip writer Lady Whistledown, are expected to make a comeback in the teaser.

In addition, Adjoa Andoh, Phoebe Dynevor, Regé-Jean Page, Golda Rosheuvel, Jonathan Bailey, and Simone Ashley are included in the Shondaland series. Bridgerton's first season, which debuted in December 2020, focused on the smoldering romance between Daphne and Simon; season two, which debuted in March 2022, was entirely focused on the Viscount Anthony's romantic journey. In March 2023, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, the spin-off prequel, made its premiere. Season 4 of Bridgerton has already been renewed.
