The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton will be adapted into a movie starring Nicola Coughlan, who has starred in Bridgerton, Nonso Anozie, who starred in Sweet Tooth, and Jessica Gunning, who plays Baby Reindeer.

Coghlan posted an article from US entertainment magazine Deadline on Instagram on Thursday, confirming the news. "The Faragway Tree of Magic." I can't even begin to describe how thrilled I am to be a part of this film, and the cast is absolutely amazing—I feel very fortunate. On Instagram, she posted, "In my Fairy Era."

The Faraway Tree, an immense magical tree, grows in an enchanted wood in Enid Blyton's novel. This tree is so large that its upper branches extend into the skies, and its trunk is wide enough to accommodate tiny homes cut out of it. After finding the tree, three kids make friends with its occupants and go on exciting adventures together.

Deadline reports that Anozie will play Moonface, the self-appointed leader, Gunning will play Dame Washalot, and Coughlan will play the woodland fairy Silky. The parents of a family that relocates to the English countryside and finds the tree will be portrayed by Claire Foy and Andrew Garfield.

Oliver Chris as Mr. Watzisname, Mark Heap as Mr. Oom Boom Boom, and Dustin Demri-Burns as the Saucepan Man round out the cast.

The UK will start producing the movie later this month. Simon Farnaby, who is well-known for his roles in Paddington 2 (2017) and Wonka (2023), wrote the script.

Ben Gregor's film is being completely financed by Ashland Hill Media Finance, Palisades Park Pictures is handling international distribution, and CAA Media Finance is co-representing US rights.
