write artical about Chiranjeevi and his daughter-in-law Upasana Kamineni Konidela had a heartwarming exchange before the former was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan award on Thursday, shows a video shared by Upasana on Instagram.

In the video, Upasana can be seen capturing moments as her family prepared for the award ceremony and Chiranjeevi posed for a photoshoot.
“Mavayya (uncle), what is common between Klin Kaara (Upasana and Ram Charan’s daughter) and me,” she asks the Telugu megastar. A puzzled Chiranjeevi replies, “Klin Kaara… she is an extension of you, that’s it.”

Countering her father-in-law, Upasana said, “No Mavayya, both our grandfathers are Padma Vibhushan recipients,” making the former break into laughter.
Upasana is the granddaughter of Pratap C Reddy, the founder of the Apollo Hospitals. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2010.

As the duo were cherishing their moment, Charan joins in and asks about the joke that they were laughing about.

The Padma Vibhushan was awarded to the veteran actor by President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi. It is the second-highest civilian award after the Bharat Ratna, awarded for “exceptional and distinguished service”.

On the work front, Chiranjeevi is all set to team up with Bimbisara director Mallidi Vassishta for an upcoming fantasy adventure, tentatively titled Mega 157.

A poster for the film was dropped by the makers on the veteran actor’s 68th birthday. Promising a VFX-heavy fantasy film, it showcases a star-shaped object with a trident amidst the panchabhutas (the five elements of nature) — earth, water, fire, air and sky.

Mega 157 is touted as Chiranjeevi’s most expensive film till date. The actor was last seen in the film Bholaa Shankar, helmed by Meher Ramesh. It also starred Keerthy Suresh and Tamannaah Bhatia in pivotal roles.
