Clash Over North Dinajpur Tea Plantation Leaves Two Injured

During a fight on Saturday for control of a tea plantation in the Chopra block of North Dinajpur, two people were hurt when pellets were fired at them.

Police arrived on the scene quickly and stabilized the situation. The pair is receiving care at the neighborhood health center.

According to some, a tea business established the plantation on a plot of 70 bighas. The corporation left the plantation a few years ago because it was losing money. Since then, the plantation's laborers have taken over management of it independently.

The block's Nichkhali village is where the garden is situated.

Hashibul Rahaman, a resident of Chopra's Bhabanipur region, attempted to seize possession of the garden a few months ago. After the workers' protest, there was fighting on both sides.

To address the problem, a meeting was even arranged at the residence of the local Trinamool MLA, Hamidul Rahaman. However, nothing came of it, according to a source.

Hashibul and a few of his cronies arrived at the property on Saturday and attempted to take over. The employees objected. There was soon a fight.

Pellets were fired during the altercation, striking two people. In the incident, a few more people suffered injuries.

When a police squad arrived, they divided the opposing factions.

According to police sources, investigations have begun, but no one has been taken into custody yet.
