Congress in Madhya Pradesh Bans 39 Leaders for Anti-Party Activities
Leaders Expelled for Running Against Official Candidates in State Assembly Elections
According to a party spokesman, the Congress in Madhya Pradesh has banned 39 leaders from the main membership of the party for a period of six years for running against the party's official candidates in the forthcoming state assembly elections.
The state vice-president of the party, Rajiv Singh, released a statement stating that these 39 leaders were expelled from the Congress on Kamal Nath's orders.
According to the statement, these ousted officials are running for office as independents or on the platforms of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Samajwadi Party (SP), and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
Ajay Singh Yadav (Khargapur), Nasir Islam (Bhopal North), Amir Aqueel (Bhopal North), former MP Premchand Guddu (Alot), former MLA Antar Singh Darbar (Mhow), and former MLA Yadvendra Singh (Nagod) are a few of the well-known individuals against whom the action was taken.
On November 17, elections will be conducted for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh legislature.
The opposition Congress is working to force the governing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from office, while the BJP is trying to hold onto power.
