Congress slams Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Parliamentary Affairs minister pick

The Congress stated on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's choice of the Parliamentary Affairs portfolio "inspires no confidence whatsoever" that the Parliament should operate any differently than it has under his leadership for the previous ten years.

The opposition party declared that the INDIA group is committed to successfully representing the people's desire and mandate in both Houses of Parliament.

Arjun Ram Meghwal will serve as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, while Kiren Rijiju has been named as the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs.

Congress national secretary Jairam Ramesh wrote on X, saying, "The allocation of the Parliamentary Affairs portfolios inspires no confidence whatsoever that the 'one-third' Pradhan Mantri wants Parliament to function any differently than the manner in which he has run it over the past decade." "However, whatever be the 'divine' signals, the INDIA Janbandhan is more than determined to reflect the will and mandate of the people in both Houses of Parliament most effectively," he stated.

With 235 members in the Lok Sabha, the opposition INDIA group has become stronger in this election and plans to challenge the government on matters affecting the general public, such as joblessness and price increases.
