Supreme Court Seeks NTA’s Response on Alleged NEET-UG 2024 Paper Leak

Court Requests NTA's Reaction on Presumptive NEET-UG 2024 Paper Breach
Tuesday, in New Delhi - The National Testing Agency (NTA) was contacted by the Supreme Court on Tuesday in response to a request for a new administration of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG), 2024. The plea was submitted based on allegations of additional malpractices including the leak of a question paper.

No Counseling Stay
Judges Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah made up the holiday bench, and they declined to halt the successful applicants' counseling for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other relevant programs.

NEET-UG 2024 Disputation
Ten days ahead of schedule, on June 4, the results of NEET-UG, 2024, which took place on May 5, were announced. The NTA administers the test for admission to a range of medical and allied programs at both public and private universities throughout the nation.

Shivangi Mishra and Others' Appeal
Shivangi Mishra and others filed a case; the top court marked it as pending and requested that the NTA provide a response in the meantime. The suit claimed that NEET-UG, 2024, was rife with irregularities, including many instances of paper leaks that the petitioners were aware of.

Breach of the Equality Rights
It was argued that the purported paper leak violated the Constitution's Article 14 (right to equality). Some applicants were allegedly given an unfair edge over others who opted to take the exam fairly.

The Supreme Court's move to ask the NTA for an answer is a major turning point in the continuing dispute over NEET-UG, 2024.
