Deep Depression Over Bay of Bengal Does Not Pose a Danger to Odisha

The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal does not pose a danger to Odisha since it is currently traveling towards Bangladesh rather than the state's coast.

Uma Shankar Das, a local meteorologist of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), informed reporters that Odisha will not be significantly affected by the system's recurrence.

A few locations are under a yellow alert. A few locations in the districts of Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara may get significant rainfall as a result of it. It's expected that neighboring areas will also have rain.

But despite its effects, cloud cover persisted across the whole state of Odisha's coastline region, including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri.

Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur districts, two coastal areas, are on a yellow alert.

A number of locations are expected to get rainfall between 7 and 11 centimeters as a result of the deep depression.

"The deep depression over west Central Bay of Bengal is likely to continue to move north, northeastwards, intensify further into a cyclonic storm during next 24 hours and cross Bangladesh coast between Mongla and Khepupara by the early hours of November 18," stated a release from the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), Odisha.
