Dhvani Bhanushali: The music sensation with a strong family, tradition, and love component

Dhvani Bhanushali, a 25-year-old music sensation, writes songs that have a strong family, tradition, and love component to them. After her song "Vaaste" received over 1.5 billion views on YouTube in 2021, Dhvani became an overnight sensation. Dhvani discussed her new track "Naina Milayke," her relationship with her family, her design style, and more in an exclusive interview with The Telegraph Online.

About what is your brand-new song, "Naina Milayke"?

Dhvani Bhanushali: It's about the initial glances that two people share and how a man or a woman's demeanor and energy draws you in. We've all experienced it. The song "Naina Milayke" is just that; it also has pretty catchy lyrics that make it simple to hum.

What made you decide to pursue music? Was there a specific moment when you realized you liked music?

Dhvani Bhanushali: My grandfather introduced me to music after I witnessed how he found solace in it. Speaking of that particular occasion, it was when "Vaaste" was released and the crowd received it so warmly. Everyone seeks approval when they try anything new, and for me, the fact that my music has touched so many lives has confirmed that this is what I'm meant to do.

What is your definition of love given that the most of your songs are about it? What are you looking for in love?

Dhvani Bhanushali: Love, in my opinion, is about having the freedom to develop as individuals alongside one another, honoring customs and boundaries, and finding solace in one another's quiet. I have made an effort to incorporate such feelings and concepts into my music.

What has been your personal favorite song so far, and why?

'Radha' will always be my personal favorite, says Dhvani Bhanushali. I knew 'Radha' was special for me from the beginning, when we were creating the audio, to the video shoot. We tried something new with the sound and the visuals that I had never done before.

Do you believe that, having started off relatively young, the Indian music business has become more inclusive of women?

Being a man or a woman no longer really matters if the audience connects with your art, likes it, pays attention to it, and accepts it, according to Dhvani Bhanushali. Gender is no longer relevant; instead, what connects is.

On Instagram, people frequently see you sharing photos of your family. What impact have they had on the way you make music?

Dhvani Bhanushali: Your art benefits from your strong attachment to your family. My album, Lagan, was about family ties and customs because it is who I am and have become as an adult. My family is my happy place, and that is exactly how my music sounds. I only want to feel happy and in love. When you're with the person you want to be with, you experience it. And that's what I attempt to convey in my songs.

What can we expect from your forthcoming music?

Dhvani Bhanushali: As an artist, you constantly return to the genre that appeals to you and feels the most personal to you. The next step is to attempt to develop unique sounds within that genre, which is what I've been doing for years. I experiment at the same time. I've done it before, and I might decide to do it once more.

What changes have you noticed in your sense of style over time, especially in terms of Instagram styling?

Dhvani Bhanushali: To be really honest, I started much too early, when I had others advise or dress me up during family gatherings, dinners, or even when I had to stand in front of the camera at public occasions. I can no longer fake it in real life or on Instagram now that I have greater influence over decisions. I dress for the way I feel within. Multiple personalities overwhelm me. However, I do make an effort to keep things interesting for music videos.

When she is alone, who is Dhvani Bhanushali?

I'm pretty much like any other 25-year-old, says Dhvani Bhanushali. I am never able to maintain a façade in public. I like to always live how I want to. I'm the person you see when I'm out for a run, at dinner, or at public events, aside from my music videos when I play a character.

What was your hardest challenge in the music business?

I dislike the word "struggle" since it has such a strong connotation of failure. I would prefer to think of my experience as a journey of understanding who I am through the audience and what they are embracing and rejecting. My path in the industry has been about navigating through my share of ups and downs while also accepting the audience's criticism.

What do you see as your prospects in the music business?

Dhvani Bhanushali: Our sector is expanding quickly. The sound is developing daily as a result of the influx of excellent new talent. I'm looking forward to learning new sounds, expressing myself, and all the other things that are happening for the good of music. I guess I have a very bright future in the music business!
