Faraway Downs Trailer Released: Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman Reunite for Epic Miniseries

The captivating Hugh Jackman portraying a rancher and Nicole Kidman's Lady Sarah Ashley work together to rescue a cow ranch in the new Faraway Downs trailer, which Disney+ Hotstar released on social media on Thursday.

Filmmaker Baz Luhrmann promises a nostalgic trip back to Faraway Downs, a six-chapter reimagining of his 2008 film Australia, where Kidman and Jackman would reprise their roles from the original Academy Award-nominated picture. The newly released trailer features shots of the lush green countryside.

The trailer, which lasts two minutes and twenty-one seconds, opens with Lady Ashley traveling to Australia to assume control of her husband's cattle ranch, Faraway Downs. Along the journey, she meets Nullah (Brandon Walters), a young Native American child, and Drover (Jackman), a charming cattle rancher. She soon finds Nullah to be her guide, showing her the splendor of the Australian outback.

Trouble, however, arrives shortly after when the police show there with the goal of taking Nullah into custody. With Drover's assistance, Lady Ashley takes a strong stand to prevent it from happening and manages to save the cattle ranch. The context of all of this is Australia's participation in the Pacific theater of World War II.
