Grey's Anatomy Cast Reunites at 75th Primetime Emmy Awards
The Grey's Anatomy actors presented the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series

At the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday, the cast of Grey's Anatomy—Ellen Pompeo, Katherine Heigl, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens, and Justin Chambers—reunited on stage to present the Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series trophy.

Reflecting on the incredible journey of the show, the actors got together in a temporary hospital room situated on the Emmy stage.

Pompeo—who plays the strong-willed Meredith Grey—started the walk down memory lane as the audience cheered. Pompeo recalled, "Shonda was not sure she knew she created a show that had a lasting imprint when the first episode aired in March 2005."

The actor who plays Dr. Richard Webber, Pickens, highlighted how long the show has been running by saying, "Over 400 episodes and counting! It is an homage to each and every member of our family.

"Oh yes, there have been some changes over the years, but one thing that has remained a constant is the wonderful fan base," responded Chambers, who said goodbye to the series in 2020.

Heigl brought humor to the reunion with her Izzie Stevens character, who departed the show in 2010. "Throughout the years, there have been some changes, but the amazing fan base has never changed."

The tough-ass Miranda Bailey, played by Chandra Wilson, boasted that her show is the longest-running primetime medical drama. Pickens thanked the supporters as he brought the unforgettable event to an end, saying, "And it would not be possible without you."

A number of fake reunions were staged by producers to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Emmy Awards, including the reunion from Grey's Anatomy. Other noteworthy reunions included Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold, Anthony Payne III, Lorraine Bracco, and Michael Imperioli from The Sopranos.

In India, Lionsgate Play is the sole streaming platform for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards.
