Australian stuntman Glenn Maxwell made headlines last month when he was hospitalized during a late-night party in Adelaide. However, he has now acknowledged that the incident was "less than ideal" and that it had a greater impact on his family.

The 35-year-old became ill last month and needed to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance while out drinking and enjoying a performance by the band "Six and Out," which features former Australian pacer Brett Lee. It was alleged that throughout the journey, he passed out.

"I believe that my family was perhaps more impacted than I was. I was aware I was off that week. According to Maxwell, "And obviously that incident was not ideal, and the timing," as reported by the Australian Associated Press.

Maxwell broke the record for the fifth T20I century on Sunday, demonstrating that he is still Australia's most potent batsman in the shorter forms. He scored an undefeated 120 off 55 balls against the West Indies.

"I felt so good and rejuvenated when I returned and resumed my gym routine and running." And I've been concentrating on preparing myself for this (T20) series and the future," he said.

Maxwell was left out of the ODI series against the West Indies because Cricket Australia had opened an inquiry into the incident. Subsequently, the big-hitter was advised by head coach Andrew McDonald to "take care of himself" and "hold up his end of the bargain."

"Clearly, he needs to examine what he's doing on his end and determine whether it's the appropriate course of action at that particular moment." McDonald said.

However, Maxwell said he swiftly got over the Adelaide event.

"I just moved on really rapidly. I was quite good since I had returned to training on Monday. Everyone, including the coach and Bails, has been amazing.

Maxwell is no stranger to the headlines for drama off the field; despite a string of ailments last year, he excelled in the ODI World Cup. In the midst of the competition, he was knocked unconscious after falling off a golf cart in Ahmedabad, and in 2022, he injured his leg after tripping at a friend's birthday celebration.
