Hum Tumhein Chahte Hain, an upcoming Hindi film starring actress Rituparna Sengupta, is scheduled to open in theaters today. Since the film is produced by Bappi Lahiri's daughter Rema Lahiri Bansal and son-in-law Govind Bansal, it nearly feels like a familial homage to the "Disco King" of Indian music. In this movie, the singer and composer who passed away the previous year also serves as the film's music director and composer. Rego B, his grandson, continued his grandfather's musical legacy when he made his acting debut in the movie.

This is my first time. As I was making my debut on his songs, I was really missing my grandfather's actual presence. I have visited Calcutta numerous times. I have performed with dadu in numerous shows at Fatakeshto in Calcutta. Dadu is my inspiration today, and I'm here to make you all dance to his music," declared 13-year-old Rego B, whose song Seva seva has already received over a million views on YouTube.

A member of the Hum Tumhein Chahte Hain team arrived in Kolkata on October 5th to promote the movie at Hotel Hindustan International. In the film, which is helmed by director Rajan Lyallppuri, Rituparna Sengupta will portray a businesswoman. I consider the Lahiri family to be like an extended family, so this movie holds special meaning for me. They have always shown me a great deal of affection. Bappida and Rema have always loved me. We have always had a bond that goes beyond movies. Lal Darja, directed by Bappida and Buddhadeb Dasgupta, was a National Award winner. Many of my films have music composed by Bappida. Govind and Rema intended to develop this movie. It's a lovely love tale. When asked why she choose the movie, Rituparna Sengupta replied, "I love to do emotional films."

Rituparna discussed the actors and crew, saying, "Janmejaya was also debuted in this movie. He did a good job. The music has a lot of power. The cast is one big unit. I adored it. I'm working on a number of Hindi movies this year. I'm holding off to see how my multilingual flicks are going. I follow my heart alone; I never follow the wishes of others. And because this is more than just a movie for me—it's a sentiment—my heart is really here. The presence of Rema and Rego makes me very pleased. Rego has amazing talent. He is doing as Bappida has instructed. He is a multilingual singer. As a result, we are supporting the next generation of our family's leaders. The fresh abilities ought to be supported. The background music for this movie was composed by Rema's brother, Bappa. Given the number of seasoned performers, the music is on a different level. I can't help but talk about Alkadi; she's adorable. We have a long history of friendship.

Along with Govind Namdev, Anup Jalota, Rajpal Yadav, Zakir Hussain, Anusmriti Sarkar, Arun Bakshi, Surendra Pal, Tinaa Ghaai, Anil Nagrath, Kaushal Shah, Sangeeta Singh, and Hitesh Sampal, the cast also includes Janmejaya Singh, who is making his Bollywood debut. Comedian Rajpal Yadav also appears in the song Seva seva. "The idea appealed to me because of the lovely storyline. In general, this project is excellent for my career. Ritudi was my first film partner when we worked on Bhorer Alo, and she was the only one who had suggested me. Ritudi is such a delight to work with. Despite having a long career in the field, she never brags. According to Anusmriti Sarkar, who visited Calcutta to promote the movie, "she is always very welcoming."

Janmejaya, her co-star, stated: "Every actor's first film is extremely special." The sensation is truly enchanted. Actors have always been my dream job. Academics have never piqued my interest much. Being a legendary actress, Rituparna put me at ease right away on the set. It was enjoyable collaborating with her.

Obviously, the movie has a lot of emphasis on music. The film's soundtrack was composed by the renowned Bappi Lahiri, with Bappa B Lahiri handling background music and Rema Lahiri serving as associate music director. The filmmaker has written the words for all of the songs. A stellar cast of Indian music celebrities, including Bappi Lahiri, Shaan, Rego B, Palak Muchhal, Alka Yagnik, Sana Aziz, and Anup Jalota, will lend their voices to the songs in the movie.

"I have a ton of memories from Kolkata. Although we were born in Bombay, our hearts belong in Calcutta. It's where I grew up. Lots of theater productions. I've witnessed people adoring my father and his enchanting, captivating voice. This place has always been amazing. We come from a Bengali family and we are Bengalis. My father used to tell me that people cannot develop as artists if they have never been to Calcutta. He used to say that only the people of Calcutta could love an artist. The tune was left incomplete, which makes this unique. With my dad's support, we began this jointly as a family, so to speak," Rema Lahiri Bansal remarked at the Calcutta promotions.
