In the current Twenty20 International series, India has taken a 2-0 lead over Australia thanks in large part to the young batsmen in the group.

Since another victory on Tuesday's third Twenty20 International in Guwahati would mean the series was sealed for India, the team management would undoubtedly want them to continue. A series victory would undoubtedly be comforting for Indian cricket and for Suryakumar Yadav, who was a member of that losing team, as the wounds from being thrashed by Australia in the ODI World Cup final are still raw.

Surya, the captain, should be buoyed by the performance of his youthful teammates, particularly Rinku Singh and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal's 53 runs in Sunday's second Twenty20 International in Thiruvananthapuram provided a strong foundation for India's 200+ score. Jaiswal had previously gained recognition on a global scale during the West Indies tour in July and August.

However, Rinku's performance in the dying overs seemed to be giving the batting lineup a cushion. His composure and ability to remain composed under pressure were evident in both of the games he has played thus far. These traits have been crucial to his series success, as he has scored 31 and 22 runs without conceding any points.

An India call-up for the left-handed batter was highly anticipated following his stellar IPL season with the Kolkata Knight Riders, and it did materialize during the brief tour of Ireland in August of last year. Considering the weaknesses of the Irish team, that wasn't a very harsh test for Rinku.

During the first two matches, Australia's backup pace attack has also mostly looked unimpressive; nevertheless, Indian batsmen's job was made easier by the surprising omission of bowler Jason Behrendorff on Sunday. Nevertheless, this is an Australian team, and even players like Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis have seen more action than their Irish counterparts.

Rinku's batting performance in the death overs is deserving of praise, but more significantly, these criticisms should help him improve his finishing, which is something India will need for the T20 World Cup in 2019.

Even with the benefits of batting, India's fast-bowling problems still exist. Australia would have definitely driven India closer if leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi hadn't taken three wickets in his four overs. All three of India's quicks, Ashdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, and Mukesh Kumar, finished with economy rates exceeding ten.

Bowlers need to consider the probability of dew, which exists in practically every Indian center at this time of year.

A few of the Australian players, particularly those who have been here since the ODIs right before the World Cup, do appear a little bit worn down. But India cannot rest easy because they are all excellent players.
