ISRO's Aditya L1 Solar Mission Continues to Send Regular Data on Sun

The head of ISRO, S Somnath, stated on Sunday that data about the Sun is being sent regularly by the premier space research agency's Aditya L I solar project.

Speaking to reporters here after receiving a special award from jewelry manufacturer P C Chandra Group, Somnath stated that a number of the spacecraft's equipment are constantly gathering data on a variety of topics.

"We are looking into the sun in a continuous manner - UV magnetic charges observation, corona graph observation, X-ray observation and other things," he stated.

On September 2, 2023, the Aditya-L1 spacecraft—India's first solar mission craft—was launched.

We want to maintain this satellite for five years, so the observation will be examined over an extended period of time. He clarified, "It's not like your quick news that something about the sun was published today; something else will happen tomorrow, and things happen every day.

He stated, "All observations will take place now, but the outcomes will be known later."

"An eclipse occurs when the moon obscures the sun. It is not as though anything occurs within the sun when there is an eclipse. To the topic of whether the mission will shed light on the solar eclipse, Somnath replied, "But obviously, our mission is also collecting data about the sun before, during, and after an eclipse."

In reference to cooperative ventures with other space organizations, he mentioned that ISRO is constructing a satellite known as NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar).
