LPG Cylinders Explode in Maharashtra's Pimpri Chinchwad, Setting Buses on Fire

Buses catch fire in Pimpri Chinchwad, Maharashtra, after LPG cylinders explode there.

Pimpri Chinchwad, Maharashtra: On Wednesday morning, numerous LPG cylinders exploded in a residential area of Pimpri Chinchwad, Maharashtra, setting fire to several parked buses in the region. Although there haven't been any recorded injuries, the catastrophe significantly damaged a lot of property.

The incident happened in Pimpri Chinchwad's MIDC Bhosari neighborhood. The explosion, per the fire department, was brought on by a gas leak in a godown where LPG cylinders were kept. The surrounding buses, which were parked in a depot, were quickly affected by the fire.

After arriving on the scene quickly, firefighters were able to put out the fire. However, a few buses had already been totally obliterated by that point. The estimated value of the property damage is in lakhs of rupees.

The origin of the gas leak is still being looked into. However, preliminary research indicates that it might have been brought on by a malfunctioning valve.

The incident has caused people to wonder if LPG cylinders are safe. People have been warned by the fire department to take precautions to avoid gas leaks, such as routinely inspecting their cylinders and valves and avoiding storing cylinders in direct sunlight.
