Madhuri Dixit to Receive Special Recognition for Contribution to Bharatiya Cinema at IFFI 2023

Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Anurag Thakur said on Monday that actor Madhuri Dixit would receive the Special Recognition for Contribution to Bharatiya Cinema award at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

The Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium at this location will host a ceremony today to officially launch the 2023 edition of the film gala. During the occasion, Dixit will also sing a medley of her hit songs.

"For four amazing decades, the incomparable talent of @MadhuriDixit has graced our screens, making him a timeless icon." Her flexibility is boundless, ranging from the lively Nisha to the alluring Chandramukhi, the magnificent Begum Para to the unwavering Rajjo.

"At the 54th International Film Festival of India, we are overwhelmed with appreciation as we award the bright and captivating actress who has redefined excellence in film with the 'Special Recognition for Contribution to Bharatiya film' Award. An homage to an enduring legacy and a celebration of an incredible journey," the minister said in a post on X.

At IFFI the previous year, Dixit received the Indian Film Personality award.

On November 28, the 54th edition of IFFI will come to an end.
