Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reminded the people of Trinamul that they may be removed from office at any moment and made it plain to her party's leaders, who are primarily public representatives, that those who engage in the deprivation of the poor would not be tolerated in her party.

During a government benefit distribution event in Purulia on Tuesday afternoon, Mamata addressed around 40,000 people. "I want to make it clear that no one can be a part of the Trinamul Congress and deprive people," she added.

Mamata remarked that anybody was free to join any other political party if they did not agree with her tenet of serving the people.

"People have great power, even if we are all tiny. You are here because you were chosen by the people. When these individuals discard you, there won't be anybody to look after you. I want everyone who work with me to share my belief system as I have lived by it my whole life. You may return home or join the CPM, BJP, or Congress if you don't think this. The chief minister said, "I would have no objections," from the Raibandh football pitch, which is located around 2 kilometers from Purulia town.

"I urge everyone to cooperate, whether they are employed by a municipality, gram panchayat, panchayat samiti, zilla parishad, or another body. If you have any complaints, please get in touch with Sarasari Mukhyomantri," she said.

Mamata did not address Sandeshkhali, which has been in the news since February 7 due to allegations that local Trinamul officials are suppressing the poor, but her message to the party's grassroots is important given the context of that disturbance, according to an insider.

The party's national general secretary and her nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, made it plain on Sunday that the party will not support any politician engaged in misconduct, regardless of title.

"A large number of the defendants in Sandeskhali, who are accused of robbing people by seizing their land, are body officials in rural areas. The party is embarrassed by the citizen demonstrations against torture, particularly those led by women. A Trinamul leader in Calcutta said, "I believe that was the cause of Didi's warning from Purulia.

Since the beginning of this month, Sandeshkhali has seen unprecedented protests by the local populace, particularly women. Several Trinamul officials have been accused of sexually abusing women and stealing lands to build ponds for pisciculture or bheris. Members of North 24-Parganas zilla parishad are among the primary culprits, along with Sheikh Shahjahan, who is missing, and Uttam Sardar, who was detained. On suspicion of rape, Uttam and Trinamul president Shibaprasad Hazra were taken into custody by the police.

"In Bermajur in Sandeshkhali-II, people vandalized the home of a local gram panchayat member even after the two major culprits were placed under custody. "The outburst also proved that people have lost trust in our rural leaders in the troubled zone, even though the party believes there is instigation from political rivals like the BJP and CPM," a Trinamul source said.

Trinamul and the state government are working tirelessly to address the grievances of the harmed parties, including giving back land parcels that the implicated Trinamul officials had taken and sending representatives throughout the states to hear people's concerns.

Many in Trinamul believed that Mamata's harsh message from Purulia would act as a reminder to party members elsewhere to struggle for people. "The chairwoman of Trinamul explicitly said that anti-people activity at whatever level would not be accepted by the party. In light of Sandeskhali, it was crucial to spread such a message, a Trinamul leader said.

Forest volunteers

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that 1,000 forest volunteers who are the relatives of those slain in conflicts between humans and animals would be appointed by her administration. According to her, the administration was contacted by more than 700 relatives of those who lost their lives in attacks by tigers or elephants in north Bengal, the Sunderbans, and Jungle Mahal.
