A Comedy Shedding Light on Societal Issues
In the official trailer for Tera Kya Hoga Lovely, released on Tuesday by production company Sony Pictures Films India, an unexpected relationship blossoms between Ileana D'cruz's dark-skinned Lovely and Randeep Hooda's fearless police officer.
The two minutes and forty-one-second video highlights issues facing society, such as the dowry system and the fixation with a woman's skin tone. Lovely, who has been turned down by many suitors because of her dark skin tone, finally feels hopeful when one of the potential husbands decides to propose to her. The drawback? The boy's family requests two times the dowry.
When the dowry is taken, the already difficult scenario is made much more so, and Randeep's 100% successful police officer steps in. With the conviction that his thunderous strikes can force anybody to tell the truth, Randeep sets out on a quest to capture the robbers. But along the way, he develops feelings for Lovely. That being said, their relationship is everything from easy.
The teaser, which is full of funny dialogue, looks askance at cultural habits that are common across the nation, particularly in the north, and promises a lighthearted comedy.
Tera Kya Hoga Lovely, which is directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua, also stars Rajendra Gupta, Pavan Malhotra, Karan Kundra, Geetika Vidya Ohlyan, and Geeta Agrawal Sharma in important parts.
On March 8, Tera Kya Hoga Lovely will premiere.
