Modi to attend Ram Temple inauguration amid grand ceremony and development projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the 'pran pratishtha' event on January 22 at the recently built Ram temple in Ayodhya, according per a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office. The installation of the god at the temple will be marked with a ceremony that starts at midday. Several dignitaries, including Mohan Bhagwat, the leader of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, and Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, will be there.

After the event, Modi is scheduled to speak at a public gathering in Ram Katha Park, which is close to the temple site, according to the PMO. In addition, he will open a number of Ayodhya development projects, including a hospital, a museum, a cultural center, and a library. According to the PMO, these developments will increase the holy city's potential for tourism and culture.

August 2020 saw the start of the Ram temple building in Ayodhya after Modi's "bhoomi pujan," or groundbreaking ceremony, at the site. The Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, established by the national government in response to a Supreme Court decision in November 2019 that allowed for the construction of the temple at the contentious location where the Babri Masjid formerly stood, is now building the temple.

The temple, which will feature a spectacular design with five domes, 360 pillars, and a 161-foot-tall figure of Lord Ram, is anticipated to be finished by 2024. A "yagyashala," a "vaidik pathshala," a "gaushala," and housing for priests and volunteers will also be included in the temple complex. The trust has said that in order to construct the temple, it would import wood, metal, and stones from both domestic and foreign sources.
