Musical Soiree to Entertain Fans Ahead of India vs Pakistan Match, Extra Security in Place
Fans are eager to get their hands on tickets, with some being sold at many times their face value on the black market.
In order to provide entertainment for the spectators before Saturday's high-profile match, a musical soiree was organized shortly after the Indian players left the field on Friday at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Due to the lack of an opening ceremony for the World Cup, the pre-match show featuring Arijit Singh, Shankar Mahadevan, and Sukhwinder Singh has already drawn a lot of criticism.
Police officers maintained a rigorous surveillance outside the main Club House while the rehearsals went on into the late hours of the night. Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, and Sachin Tendulkar are also anticipated to attend as golden ticket holders.
With each hour that goes by, there seems to be an increasing demand for tickets. Thousands of people gathered outside the flyover close to the main entrance in search of tickets that were being sold on the black market for many times their face value.
Mohammad Bashir, a well-known cricket player also known as Chicago Chacha or Bashir Chacha, was there at the entrance. The American passport holder, who is frequently photographed, may be the lone Pakistani supporter in attendance despite claiming he still doesn't have a ticket for Saturday's game.
From the team hotels—India is staying at ITC Narmada, while Pakistan is at Hyatt Ahmedabad—to the stadium complex, there is no shortage of protection. The security was comparable to the bandobast on any match day even though the teams practiced in front of no fans.
A support staff member came back to assess the amount of dew on the ground as the Indians finished setting up their nets. The bowlers' ability to grip the ball is hampered by dew, which typically favors the batting side.
