Following the announcement of the results of the 2024 election, top BJP politician and Union minister of defense Rajnath Singh has projected that Odisha would have a "double engine" administration.

The defense minister said on Thursday that "the state can progress only when there is a BJP government both at the state and the Center," choosing not to criticize BJD leader and Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik.

Singh spoke at many gatherings, one of which was held in Patnaik's home area of Ambapua Bibek Bihar in Berhampur, Ganjam district. With Narendra Modi coming to power, the whole nation's image was altered. A double-engine government is also necessary to implement reforms and guarantee rapid growth in Odisha, Singh said.

Singh revealed the ways in which Odisha profited during the Modi administration, criticizing the UPA government for having disregarded the state's needs. "Odisha was granted Rs 3 lakh crore throughout the ten-year UPA rule. However, it has received more than Rs 18 lakh crore in the nine years of the Modi administration. It displays Modi's love and care for Odisha.

He also said how 25 crore people have left poverty behind during the Modi administration and how 25 lakh Odisha residents now live in pucca ghar in the state.
