Selena Gomez's 'Emilia Pérez' to Premiere at Cannes Film Festival
Crime-Comedy Features Stars Alongside Zoe Saldana and Karla Sofía Gascón
The French director Jacques Audiard's musical crime-comedy Emilia Pérez, which stars Selena Gomez, will have its Cannes Film Festival debut in May, the singer-actress said on Thursday via an Instagram post.
"I've been eager to present this to you all! The Love On singer shared character posters for the film Emilia Pérez, directed by Jacques Audiard, with the caption, "I'm beyond grateful. It will premiere at @festivaldecannes in May."

The news was also posted on X (formerly Twitter) by the movie's distributor, Pathé Films, and was retweeted by the official Cannes Film Festival X page.

Selena's movie will be shown in the 'In Competition' section of the 77th edition of the film festival, along with Yórgos Lanthimos' Kinds of Kindness, which stars Emma Stone and Willem Dafoe from Poor Things, Ali Abbasi's The Apprentice, and Paul Schrader's Oh Canada, which stars Richard Gere.
Emilia Pérez is Selena's most recent cinematic endeavor. She is presently filming the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building, a crime-comedy on Hulu in which she co-stars with Steve Martin and Martin Short. In addition, Selena will rejoin David Henrie, her co-star on Wizards of Waverly Place, for a revival of the sitcom.
Emilia Pérez, which also stars Adriana Paz and Edgar Ramírez, is scheduled to hit theaters on August 28.
