After winning the fourth album of the year, Taylor Swift creates history. As of right now, she is the only vocalist to win the prize four times.
'What Was I Made For?' by Billie Eilish wins song of the year.
With "Flowers," Miley Cyrus breaks the record for the year.

The best new artist award goes to Victoria Monét.
Joni Mitchell and Tracy Chapman both perform.
Women swept this year's major music industry awards, with pop singer Miley Cyrus, R&B artist SZA, and pop diva Taylor Swift taking home Grammy prizes on Sunday.

Swift, who took home the prize for best pop vocal performance, used the opportunity to reveal that her new album, "The Tortured Poets Department," will be out on April 19.

Swift remarked, "I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I've been keeping from you for the last two years," in reference to the release of her latest album.

SZA, who was changing clothes backstage as she raced out to claim her prize from presenter Lizzo for winning best R&B song for "Snooze," SZA remembered how, when they were starting their careers, she and Lizzo had performed before tiny audiences.

"I came really, really far, and I can't believe this is happening, and it feels very fake," she said. Cyrus's empowerment hymn "Flowers" earned her her first Grammy, and Mariah Carey presented her with the gold award. Cyrus said that she almost missed her name being called because she was trapped in traffic in Los Angeles during a period of intense rain.

"I could have missed the award, that's fine, but not Mariah Carey!" Cyrus said when she was center stage.

Cyrus, SZA, and Swift competed for the top album of the year award of the evening. In the 66-year history of the Grammy Awards, Swift would be the only performer to have won the prize four times if she takes home the trophy. As he introduced the performance on CBS, comedian Trevor Noah—who was presenting for the fourth time—joked that it was "the only concert that starts on time."

During the first performance of the evening, Tracy Chapman and country music artist Luke Combs collaborated on a rendition of "Fast Car," the 1988 smash song that Combs turned into a huge country hit the previous year. Swift, Jelly Roll, and the other candidates danced to the music while standing in the crowd.

Boygenius, an indie rock group consisting of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker, won three prizes for their album "The Record," including rock song, rock performance, and alternative music album.

The Recording Academy's roster of producers, engineers, musicians, and other experts selected the winners. In recent years, the club has made an effort to increase the representation of women and people of color among its membership.
