Akshay Kumar hopes to see Rs 2000-3000 crore blockbusters in the future

Superstar Akshay Kumar believes that the recent Hindi films "Jawan" and "Gadar 2"'s commercial success is excellent for the film industry and that in the future, "Rs 2000-3000 crore" would serve as the standard for a blockbuster. The COVID outbreak had a significant influence on the Hindi film business since theaters had to close, and even after they reopened, box office receipts suffered until early this year. The films "Pathaan" and "Jawan" starring Shah Rukh Khan as well as Sunny Deol's "Gadar 2" have restored the allure of the theater experience.

"I hope that the industry continues to provide hits. When Shah Rukh Khan's movie "Jawan" became so successful, I was overjoyed. 'Gadar 2' and 'OMG 2' are just two examples of many other successful movies. Therefore, it's really beneficial for the sector, the 56-year-old said in a PTI group interview.

"It's excellent that there is a standard of Rs 1,000 crore. I also hope that we produce films worth Rs 2000–3000 crore. Then, we may also produce Hollywood-style movies. They don't have the same type of film, screenplay, or script that we do, Akshay continued.

The actor-producer thinks that in order to keep making films with strong content like his most recent one, "Mission Raniganj," economic success is crucial.

The film's creators claim that Jaswant Singh Gill, who oversaw Bharat's coal mine rescue attempt, served as an inspiration for the story.Commercial success is crucial since you must create additional films (driven by content), but it also depends on the type of success you will achieve.

"For example, 'Mission Raniganj' was produced on a specific budget, and I want to refer to it as a commercial picture. It's not a "Jawan" or a "Rowdy Rathore," for example. Although it has a specialized audience and is not that kind of movie, Kumar remarked, "I hope it does well commercially.

The rescue thriller, which debuted in theaters on Friday, is handled by "Rustom" director Tinu Suresh Desai, for which Akshay received the National Award for best actor.

The actor expressed his satisfaction with the reception "Mission Raniganj" has received.

"My wife is confirming my beliefs. She saw it and remarked, "You're receiving excellent ratings. I'm really proud of you; it's a performance that has won awards. Family and friends will enjoy it. What matters to me is the audience; it's critical that they enjoy the movie. It's wonderful to see positive reports emerging," he continued.

The motion poster for "Mission Raniganj" with the slogan "The Great Bharat Rescue" was released by the film's producers a few days prior to the movie's premiere. The dispute around the names India and Bharata led to the movie's title being revealed.

When questioned why the film's tagline was changed from India to Bharat, Kumar responded, "Is Bharat a wrong name? India is likewise entirely correct; it is not at all in error. It is a fantastic name, so we modified the slogan for that reason. Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Ananth Mahadevan, Jameel Khan, Sudhir Pandey, Bachan Pachera, Mukesh Bhatt, and Omkar Das Manikpuri are all included in the movie as well.
