Calcutta Police Sends Notice to BCCI President Roger Binny Over Black Marketing of World Cup Tickets

According to a senior official, Calcutta Police sent a notice to BCCI president Roger Binny requesting details on ticket sales for Sunday's World Cup cricket match between India and South Africa at Eden Gardens, amid claims of black marketing of the event's tickets.

He stated that the notification, which was sent late on November 4 evening, requested that the president of the BCCI provide documentation to the Maidan police station officer looking into the accusations about the tickets being blackmarketed.

"A notice was sent to the BCCI president, asking him to provide relevant documents and information regarding the sale of tickets either personally or through any competent person of his organisation to the investigating officer of Maidan PS during working hours on Tuesday," the official said to PTI.

In addition to filing seven charges related to the illegal sale of tickets, Kolkata Police has so far detained 19 individuals and taken 108 tickets out of their hands.
