Manish Malhotra Borrowed Rani Mukerji's Mother's Saree for Her Debut Film

One of India's most well-known fashion designers, Manish Malhotra, has had pieces of his creation appear in some of the biggest Bollywood movies. But did you know that for Rani Mukerji's debut movie, he once used her mother's saree?

It is real! In a recent interview, Malhotra disclosed that he had a limited budget when creating the costumes for Rani's debut movie, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He knew Rani's mother had a lovely collection of sarees and needed one for a specific sequence. He consequently requested a loaner for the scene from Rani.

The saree, which was graciously loaned to Malhotra by Rani's mother, was worn in the well-known sequence in which Rani and Shah Rukh Khan dance to the song "Yeh Ladki Hai Deewani." Rani looked amazing in the lovely saree, which was white and gold.

It was a wise move on the part of Malhotra to take the saree from Rani's mother. In addition to saving him money, it gave Rani's suit a unique touch. One of the most iconic outfits from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is the saree, which has become recognizable.

This narrative serves as only one illustration of Malhotra's originality and resourcefulness. He is an expert in his field and constantly seeks out new approaches to produce original and fashionable designs. He continues to be one of India's most sought-after fashion designers and serves as an inspiration to many.
