Salaar: Prabhas Transforms into One-Man Army in Epic Trailer
Prabhas in Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire trailer.

In the trailer for Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, released on Friday by K.G.F. producers Hombale Films, Prabhas's character Deva transforms into a one-man army, hacking and chopping goons with swords to help his childhood friend Vardharaja (Prithviraj Sukumaran) reclaim the throne of Khansaar amid political conspiracies.

A young Deva is shown in the three minutes and 46 second trailer pulling Vardharaja through a throng of people on the street while holding his hand. The action quickly cuts to a dramatic scene in which Deva swears to Vardharaja that she will always be there for him. A flashback to the early days of the unrest that characterized their city, Khansaar, is shown after this. It transports us back a millennium to the time when "more dangerous than Mahmud of Ghazni and Genghis Khan" thugs invaded Khansaar. A peek of the hardships faced by the common people and their ability to survive in the face of political unrest is also provided by the trailer.

A plot to assassinate Vardharaja's father is hatched by two conspirators following his declaration that his son will succeed him as king. This sparks a gory conflict in the city as Vardharaja uses a rifle to kill people without mercy.

Vardharaja returns to Deva after the Russian and Serbian armies have entered the city, asking him to honor their childhood pledge. In his battle against the fully formed battalion, Deva transforms into his one-man army. Deva reminds us of the Yash-starring K.G.F. as he goes on the rampage and murders everyone in his path. Prabhas's role in Salaar will be very different from his previous film Adipurush, where he played the cool-headed Raghava.

The trailer also features Jagapathi Babu and Shruti Haasan. We are reminded of SS Rajamouli's two-hero film RRR from last year as Deva and Vardharaja band together and join forces for their war.

Under the direction of KGF director Prashanth Neel, Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran makes his Telugu debut in the movie. On December 22, Salaar Part 1-Ceasefire, which also stars Eshwari Rao and Sriya Reddy, will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi theaters.
