Snyder disclosed that there will be an additional hour of footage in the director's cut during a December 2023 interview with Netflix.
"I believe the director's cut to be a valid extended universe version, as it contains nearly an hour of additional content." You truly see a great deal. Simply said, it's more painted in throughout. According to Snyder, "The director's cut is a settle-in deep dive, which I have notoriously done throughout my career."
Despite topping Netflix's charts upon its release on December 21, 2017, Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire was met with criticism. The plot centers on a young woman named Kora (Sofia Boutella), who lives a tranquil existence on the farming moon of Veldt. The scenario is partially based on Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai. But when Motherworld-based alien ships penetrate their moon, the calm is shattered. Day by day, the colony of people feels more and more threatened, so Kora sets out to gather fighters who are prepared to protect their home at the edge of the galaxy.
The Imperium, commanded by the resurgent Admiral Atticus Noble, is opposed by Sofia Boutella's Kora and her resistance squad in the second section of Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver. Netflix released the movie on April 19.
