New Holiday Netflix Releases: Heartwarming Movies for Christmas Cheer

Here are three new holiday Netflix releases that you should add to your list of movies to watch in one sitting, as Christmas approaches.

Switch Family

If you're looking for some fun and laughter during the holidays, this body-swap comedy featuring Jennifer Garner, Ed Helms, Emma Myers, and Brady Noon is a decent option. The movie, which was directed by Joseph McGinty Nichol, is partially based on the bestselling children's book Bedtime for Mommy by Amy Krouse Rosenthal.

In Family Switch, the fascinating journey of the Walker family—a father, mother, a baby, and two school-age sons and daughters—to rekindle their relationship is explored. Due to their professional commitments, Jess (Jennifer Garner) and Wyatt (Ed Helms)'s marriage has stagnated, and they take advantage of every chance to discredit one another.

Wyatt's body is switched with their son's and Jess's with their daughter's after a fortuitous meeting with a fortune teller and a disaster at the planetarium. Their opinions and interests, however, don't change, so each of them starts to struggle to fit into the shoes they are currently in.

With the help of common slapstick comedy devices like misunderstanding and dramatic irony, McGinty Nichol elevates the characters above their self-serving sentiments during the holiday season and has the Walkers attempt to mend their broken relationship.

Autumn to Winter

This holiday romantic comedy, which stars Lori Loughlin and James Tupper, is a great choice for Christmas viewing because it teaches forgiveness. When Kerrie's brother Jack moves to Europe and sells her half of the family business to Brooks McLead, her supposedly annoying high school crush, Kerrie's world falls apart.

Entrepreneur Brooks holds opinions that diverge from Kerrie's. Kerrie is hesitant to allow business strategies override her softer feelings because her childhood memories are associated with her family's candy store.

Old emotions resurface as Kerrie and McLead work through their competing interests, opening the door to fresh insights and second chances. Eventually, the two of them learn to let go of their inflexible beliefs and allow love and laughter to infiltrate their lives.

I'm Happy Christmas Is Here

This cheerful holiday movie features miracles, hope, and festive music. In her neighborhood's Holiday Lane, Chloe Bose (Jessica Lowndes), a clerk at Hollingsworth Gift Shop with aspirations of being the lead vocalist in a Broadway musical, encounters Jason Murphy (Paul Greene), a single father.

Miss Cora, a wealthy businesswoman determined to bring back the neighborhood's Christmas spirit, notices their chemistry. As a matchmaker, Miss Cora persuades Jason and Chloe to work together on Holiday Lane's Christmas concert.

Chloe is faced with an anxious choice as a result of this choice. She has been trying to achieve her goal for the past five years, but not much has happened. Deciding to attend Miss Cora's concert would mean forfeiting more significant opportunities. But the secret to a possible romance may lie in remaining back. See whether Chloe chooses to follow her dreams or romance by watching Ernie Barbarash's Yuletide drama.

Except for the headline, this story has not been edited by Press Time staff and has been published from a syndicated feed.
